Cimcool Europe New Product Line Introductions

In 2020 the Cimcool organization was acquired by DuBois Chemicals, a leading supplier of specialty chemistry to the manufacturing, metal working, heat treating, food and beverage, pulp and paper and water treatment industries for over 100 years. The powerful combination of DuBois’ 100 years of experience and Cimcool’s 70 years of European market knowledge, are now where chemistry & process knowledge meet through leading heat treatment products. In this strong partnership, Cimcool has engineered a selection of the DuBois portfolio to the latest European legislative requirements and to next level performances such as longer fluid life, and optimal health and safety features.

The following selected DuBois product lines will now be available in Europe via the CIMCOOL organization.

Heat Treatment – Quenchants


For many heat treaters, our Oil -or Water based (Polymer) quenchants provide the quench severity necessary to achieve the exact metallurgical and physical properties required to comply with metal engineering part specifications in segments like Automotive, Aerospace, Defense, Energy etc. Cimcool-DuBois Oil based quenchants are ideal solutions for hardening a variety of grade steels and high-hardenability alloys with optimal process stability. Where Fire Hazard risk mitigation, environmental requirements and cleaning aspects are more severe, Cimcool-DuBois water based quenchants (so called Polymer quenchants) offer high process safety and consistency, adjustable cooling characteristics and extreme clean process results. For induction heated individual parts that need local quenching by spraying, Cimcool-DuBois water diluted Polymer quenchants are the best solution for process consistency, optimal hardness and through hardening results, while fluid lifetime is secured by optimal bacteria protection additives. Heat Treatment – Stop-Off protective coating

Cimcool offers the famous and world-wide used No-Carb coating from DuBois now in EU legislation conform version. This is a Stop-Off protective coating used for steel components that need carburization prior to hardening. Those surface areas that do not benefit from being hardened need protection from Carbon diffusion, simple covering this area with a thin layer of No-Carb will prevent this. This paint-like coating can be applied by spraying, dipping or just simply by using a brush. Users across the world count on DuBois No Carb™ for its’ consistent performance to prevent carburization or decarburization. This Stop-Off coating offer the following benefits:
  • Perform over broad temperature ranges
  • Prevent both carburization or de-carburization of parts
  • Can be used at various thickness to provide proper coverage until 3 mm case depth
  • Water based product with a shelf life of 3 years, no solvents needed for thinning!
  • Available in 3,8 liter cans (1 Gallon), from mid 2023 also available in 19 liter pails (5 Gallons)

High Temperature Lubricants

A series of synthetic high temperature chain and conveyor lubricant technology based on synthetic polyol-esters for extended life at temperatures up to 250°C. These products contain materials that reduce evaporation, friction and wear to lubricate conveyor chains and double belt presses operating at high pressures and elevated temperature.

Rust Preventives

CIMGUARD® is a comprehensive range of water and solvent based Rust Preventive products for indoor and outdoor corrosion protection. CIMGUARD® applies a non-sticky protective coat on the product. On a molecular level, protective ions are attached to the metal surface, creating a thin film which provides corrosion protection up to 18 months.
